In partnership with grassroots organisations, Education Development Trust leads the Future Forward programme as part of West Yorkshire UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF). Through a blend of research and pilot programmes, the initiative aims to strengthen the support available to young people across the region.
By highlighting best practices and testing varying approaches, Future Forward is dedicated to improving opportunities for young people. Together, stakeholders are committed to creating a brighter future for youth in West Yorkshire.

EASA’s Aspire Horizons pilot offers interventions to help young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) raise their career aspirations and help them navigate their path to success.
Location: Bradford
Work Experience, led by EDT, coordinates meaningful work experience placements for NEET young people aged 16 – 24 across West Yorkshire with a local employer and delivers tailored interventions to boost their confidence and skills.
Location: Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds, Wakefield
Building Healthy Futures, delivered by the Inspirational Training Institute(ITI), provides tailored employability support to participants as well as strategies to help improve physical health and wellbeing supporting young people to unlock their true potential.
Location: Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds
The Uplift pilot, delivered by Positive ECHO, raises awareness of the impact of mental health on young people’s wellbeing and supports them on their career journey through a variety of advice and guidance workshops.
Location: Bradford
Based in Leeds, Money Buddies will help young people to develop the understanding and skills they need to manage their personal finances, this will involve tailored interventions focussed on the management of household bills and exploration of additional support.
Location: Leeds face to face and virtual support available across West Yorkshire (Benefits application support only)
Fast Track to Success, led by Blue Apple, takes a holistic approach to young people’s wellbeing and builds their confidence by offering a chance to complete an Entry Level 3 qualification in Personal and Social Development (PSD).
