We are thrilled to announce a unique Craft and Sewing Project that bridges Bradford's rich textile history with the modern world of online selling and e-commerce. This initiative is all about empowering women by breaking down barriers such as language, digital skills, employability, and confidence while fostering creativity and entrepreneurship.
Through a series of workshops, participants will not only learn new crafts and sewing techniques but also gain valuable ICT skills, budgeting know-how, and experience in running an eBay shop. This project offers a fantastic opportunity for women to unite, learn from one another, and build cross-cultural friendships, all while taking steps toward starting a social enterprise or even launching their own businesses!
Our 20-week programme includes: 8 workshops on future career and life aspirations, 7 social activities to enhance integration and interaction , 7 learning sessions on social enterprise, confidence, and life mapping, 7 sewing classes to master the craft, 10 creative English sessions to boost language skills, Design and launch of an eBay shop to sell handmade items and Visits to textiles centres of excellence in West Yorkshire
By the end of the programme, participants will have the skills and confidence to start a social enterprise, creating a sustainable and empowering outcome for all involved.
This project is proudly funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Let's come together to celebrate creativity, learning, and the spirit of entrepreneurship!
